Country Girls Can Survive

I've come to the realization that I live a double life.....
Five days out of the week I come to class dressed like any other college student. I am sure most people are familiar with what I am referring to. I attend class, work, and socialize. I spend hours doing homework. And like most 21yr olds, I like to partake in a "classy beverage" every now and then. What most people don't realize is that after I leave campus, my life is quite different.....

Unlike most local college students, at 3:30 you'll find me in a barn. I spend many of my days feeding animals, cleaning stalls, and moving hay. It is sweaty, smelly, dirty, and most of all BEAUTIFUL. I say it's beautiful because I feel so accomplished after I am done. I can't explain the sense of satisfaction I feel knowing I completed hard work and helped animals at the same time. Plus, it's great to know that I can tough it out!

I think everyone should have to spend at least one day of their life working on a farm. Much of our country was built on the backs of farmers, it would be nice for everyone to know what they went through. And you can feel included when you hear " a country boy can survive" by Hank Williams Jr.

I thought your secret identity/double life was you being Michael Scott...?

"I'm a friend first, and a boss second. Probably, ah, entertainer third."

I agree with you though, about the value of a good, physically hard day of work. (and I suppose Michael Scott is the opposite of that haha)
